Specialist Education Support Network

Every child deserves an education

Student Council

As Student Council, we have been elected by other students to represent the voice of our year group and liaise with the senior leadership team and staff to ensure we have the opportunity to express their views, assist in school affairs and activities and gather community relations.

How we aim to make an effective School Council.

  • We hold regular meetings with our school's senior leaders
  • We must have good communication in order to share the thoughts and views of other students and communicate back to them what has been discussed
  • We remain professional and appropriate in order to make a positive impact
  • We receive training to ensure we are able to fulfil our roles effectively
  • We put together annual evaluations of the actions and impacts following decisions made within the Student Council meetings.

Our Principles

Every individual should be continually encouraged to develop and succeed by uncovering their abilities and talents

Exposure to new experiences, venture and skills are essential to develop a young person’s confidence and desire to learn

An educational environment should be inviting and a place in which young people want to be because it meets their needs and their interests

Innovative without the prescription of linear education
